That was quick.

Wow. A month and a half of putting "meat on the pole" and that's it. Go figure.

Not to say that it is a completely absurd idea, but a Vegan Strip Club?
Did *ANYONE* actually go there?
I've refused to go to NORMAL strip clubs, why the hell would I want to goto a Vegan one?

Dammit. The was the ONLY reason I was thinking about visiting this year.

Sometimes the old adage 'if you ignore it,
it will go away' really does work.

to anonymous with comment #3: get over yourself. as you'll see in this post, i am completely not on casa diablo's side, but if you really think a handful of hipsters refusing to come in and buy a pabst would have ANY effect whatsoever on any strip club in this city, you are seriously delusional.

anyway - i know a lot of people who worked there for the 8 weeks it was open. they made a lot of cash at first, but the owner apparently only opened the place to get a free T&A show.. he had no intention of running the business. he is completely clueless when it comes to running anything, right down to cleaning the kitchen and checking for ID. he just wanted to waste everyone's time and then sell the building for $1 million (which will never happen).

it's possible the whole thing was a money laundering business. at the very least, it was only a "hobby business", and he wanted to waste everyone's time and $ to fulfill some twisted fantasy of his (which, strangely, represents the idea of the industry all the anti-SC "experts" seem to have).

before the inevitable barrage of anti-strip club comments, please note that i have NEVER seen anything as bad as what this guy pulled. there are a lot of so-called feminists in the vegan community who feel they are experts on the industry without ever having worked in it (or set foot inside a club).. before they start running their mouths about how they are right, i certainly hope they consider the fact that this guy also wanted to represent VEGANS.

he created his own religion and his life goal is to have a harem of women on some kind of farm where everyone sacrifices their souls to the animals... so before you think the Casa Diablo disaster is typical of the industry and the way we are treated, ask yourself whether his views on veganism (or his cooking, for that matter) is typical of the vegan way.

this guy doesn't represent anyone.

^ you will have to register to view those posts, i believe, but if you want the story, it's all there. this guy obviously has the money to start up another business in another city.. and his next community deserves to know about the shit he pulls.

thanks to all the trustworthy people who tipped me off about this guy, based on your personal experience. i never set foot in this club, and at the very least, you guys saved me from wasting my time.

quick note to 'another friendly local vegan stripper'

Wow, that last Anonymous comment was pretty judgmental and insulting (which is probably why it was anonymous, so he/she doesn't have to deal with the consequences of his/her behavior).

I think this kind of infighting and disrespect is the entire reason that AR (or any other progressive movement) have such a hard time gaining legitimacy. Conservatives don't need to discredit us when we do it to ourselves.

The stripper above is a self-described feminist and vegan. Is it so hard to fathom that her opinions could actually be legitimate? But no, she doesn't believe EXACTLY what you do... so she must be wrong and you must attack her and insult her intelligence.

Believe it or not folks, a very large part of the feminist population think that stripping is very empowering towards women. There are whole books on it. You disagree? Great! But be respectful of other's opinions. There's nothing "magical" about your opinion that makes YOU right.

Wow. I didn't even know that the Pirates Tavern closed down! And was a strip club for a month? when did this all happen?

I feel so out of the loop...

probably is a good thing that all of this was closed down though with a jerk like that running these businesses... but I still can't help but mourn the wonderful idea of combining Pirates and veganism. Oh well.

I'd go to a vegan strip club if it were animals... taking off their collars and whatnot...

But first I guess we'd have to genetically engineer them with opposable thumbs so they could handle their outfits better. But then it wouldn't get the non-GMO stamp of approval :(

Why is life so complicated?!?
