"For the first time ever, graphic feature-length footage of the annual slaughter of some 2,500 dolphins in Taiji, Wakayama Prefecture, has been captured during a unique yearlong covert operation."

Well that's appealing...

Japan officially gets to join us in the ranks of the suck nations.

I learned about this a few years back thaks to the Earth First! magazine publication.

I am glad to hear footage is being made into a documentary. Progress with international support has been made with Whale hunting, perhaps this too will be just as hot an issue.

So disturbing and disgusting. I can't believe I am human sometimes, the things my fellow species does to not only other animals but to eachother.

Looking forward to the Let Live NW Animal Rights Conference.

In this case it doesn't even matter if you're vegan or not. Any creature that calls each other by name (dolphins) or mourn their dead (elephants) should be protected by law. Killing an organism that's even possibly self-aware is murder, regardless of whether you follow/believe the tenets of veganism or not.

Unfortunately, dolphins murder fish.

Every carnivore that lives necessitates that many, many other animals must die.
