It is not about the feds but about the majority of population. Whatever animals were used in making furs are already dead. That being said, what is the point of ruining good furs? Insurance will just cover the loss and more anyway. Maybe this was an insurance scam.....hmm, pretty ingenious.

And if the business becomes risky enough, insurance will be too expensive, and no one will choose to open a fur store. This has happened already with many fur farms.

True, but keep in mind that any furs covered by insurance will most likely be replaced by NEW furs, thus adding to the market an automatic demand of one fur that would have otherwise not have existed.

This equates to 40 or so animals that will die to replace the ruined coat.

Is it worth sending so many animals to a certain death, just to prove a point? Perhaps, if one were to prove that such an action would have a concrete effect on lowering the market demand for future fur coats.

I wonder what would happen if this kind of behaviour were so commonplace such that a person could not wear a fur coat out in public for one hour without it being vandalized.
