Stumptown Vegans + Los Gorditos

Check out the great review of Los Gorditos. Then go down there and get fed by some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. Also, before you go off on us for promoting a place that sells meat, believe us when we say they are at a tipping point and it wouldn't be a big surpirse if they went all vegetarian if they thought their family's business could survive on it. Their meat sales have already been cut in half by the recent surge in vegan business and all the new vegan menu items. Show 'em some love.

Their burrito with Soyrizo and vegan cheese is really yummy. I would go there more often if there was no meat, because I was worried they cooked my food on the same grill and was not sure the tortillas were really vegan (most commercial tortillas aren't!)...

And you can't beat the portion sizes and price. I had two full meals for about $6.

Do you think they'd be willing to have a 100% vegetarian day as a special event to test the waters? I'd totally go and be willing to help spread the word. If it did well, they could have one each month, or each week, or every day.

There are several people (if not more) who only patronize vegetarian restaurants that would come. I'd also be interested in signing up to be notified when they become vegetarian (the list is another opportunity for them to gauge demand.)

Thanks Chad - for the plug and for the update.

They'd actually mentioned doing an all vegan day to see what happens. We'll let you know for sure. Good idea.

Such cool folks, such great deals on the best Mex Food I've had in PDX.

All <3 to these peeps!
