Cavel, Last U.S. Horse Slaughterhouse, Loses Fight to Survive

Thanks Mr. Brandt for sending us this. Hey Peter, let's go get fries.

'`The court has slammed the doors of the last horse slaughter plant in the country, to the great relief of the citizens of Illinois and horse advocates everywhere,''

Now if we can just close all those other slaughterhouses ...

I know this is a good thing, but I just dont understand why slaughtering and eating horse meat is any worse than eating a cow or pig.

Finally! Pack up and go back to Belgium. Your business is not wanted here. How many laws do we have to pass and how many different ways to we have to say it?

Our horses are safe from the evil Mr. Tucker.

The difference is that horses are not food animals and they not raised as food animals. They are companion, work and sport animals.

I do not like the killing of any animal but horses have served humans and carried them on their backs for thousands of years, they do not deserve to be slaughtered, if the need exists euthanize them humanely. Now we just need to fight them being exported to Canada and Mexico (especially Mexico!) because the way they slaughter them is very inhumane.
