The article gives a positive spin on this, but I'd like to point out the negatives. We'll now have a monopoly of "health food" chain stores. How is this any better than a monopoly of media outlets, conventional grocery stores or any other big business?

I can shop at 3 co-ops, Wild Oats, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's in my town. They all carry different items to some extent. This changes when ownership becomes centralized. I wish Wild Oats had just folded and co-ops had sprung up where they were. But Americans are so brainwashed into desiring branded names that most would probably avoid the new co-ops.

Very sad.
