"Downtown - Schumacher Furs & Outerwear is told by its landlord to vacate by 1 p.m. the day after Christmas"

Holy shit! Yea!

Holy Shit is right. Good job everyone!

Very exciting news indeed. Observations from outside the store at the protest last Saturday indicated the mood/atmosphere was grim, the looks on the employees faces, the hugs and other gestures (not normally part of the end of the business day), visits by most of the repeat visitors/friends of Gregg and Linda going back to last spring...seemed that the employees were feeling the end was coming soon and as of 12/15 (at least) they had not secured a new location for their store so it seems they will be homeless real soon. The Schumachers will fight the eviction but there is a hearing Thursday morning at Multnomah County Courthouse, 9 am. Should be most interesting. All who have time come on down the the courthouse.

anyone know how the hearing turned out?

The hearing hasn't happened yet, it's on Thursday morning.

i apparently can't read.

Seems the eviction hearing has been canceled but I'm not completely sure. Check out kgw.com. There's another story at koin.com where Gregg Schumacher says the court threw out the eviction which doesn't make any sense since the hearing was to be tomorrow so I'm not sure what to believe. He also said he received an eviction notice yesterday which stated he was to be out of the building yesterday. So, if the property manager issued an eviction notice yesterday why would they cancel the hearing? Will hopefully have more info sometime today.
