Y'see, the problem with the Red Cross is that they pay no taxes, get free advertising, and get hundreds of thousands of compliant dupes to volunteer for them to collect blood for free. And is this for a good cause, this vampire blood collecting? Horse sense says so, but actually it's not. Since the Red Cross decided to enter the blood and plasma business, all but ONE private blood agency has been forced out of business. That led to a near monopoly of the blood and plasma market by the Red Cross, and the first thing they did was raise the cost of a unit of plasma and blood by over 10 times. Currently, a unit of blood costs between a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on demand. This is the cost of blood that was donated for FREE by compliant dupes. And the profit goes right into the tax-free Red Cross bank account, where it is later redistributed to high salaries for its officers. The high cost of blood and plasma has driven up hospital and thus insurance costs, and guess who pays for that?

But maybe you say that blood collection is just the evil half of the Red Cross business model? Maybe the disaster relief is what you like? Nope, same thing. You donate to the Red Cross, and most of it never makes it to the field, but instead ends up in either their account as "operating overhead" or is laundered by their nonprofit subsidiaries.

Nonprofits, often the biggest scam going.
